Rubi, owner of Muerte Studios, is a first-generation Mexican American stop-motion animator from East Las Vegas. Currently majoring in animation and Deaf studies at Nevada State University and projected to graduate in spring 2026. She draws inspiration from artists such as Leonora Carrington, Lottie Reiniger, Edward Gorey, and Tim Burton. German Expressionism and Surrealist art influenced her attraction to dark, dreamlike styles.
